Kevin Helgeson

Kevin Helgeson received his DHSc in Physical Therapy from the University of St. Augustine in 2002, with a concentration in sports physical therapy and adolescent orthopaedics. He is native of Montana and received a B.S. in Physical Therapy from the University of Montana in 1986 and a M.S. in Exercise Science in 1992. He was a Fellow in Sports Physical Therapy at Kentucky Rehabilitation Services in 1992. He became certified by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialists as a Sports Clinical Specialist (SCS) in 1997 and received a certification in Sports Therapy (STC) from USA and the North American Sports Medicine Institute in 2000.

He has worked with athletes from the preschool to professional levels. He has a special interest in adolescent growth and development and worked for five years at Nemours Children’s Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida. He has been active in a variety research projects for the past 17 years and in 2001 received the Breg Excellence in Research Award from the Sports Physical Therapy Section of the APTA. He is currently an instructor in the physical therapy program at the University of North Florida.
