Your computer must meet certain minimum standards to be able to function properly in the on-line education environment. We offer you these minimum requirements so that your learning experience will not be hampered.
If your computer was purchased within the last 3 or 4 years, it will likely be suitable for your courses. If your present computer is either old or unreliable, it would be better to replace it than to try to deal with its problems while taking on-line courses. Many vendors have entry-level desktop computers that exceed the requirements for less than $400 and laptops for less than $500.
Minimum
You'll need a current Pentium IV processor or G4 Macintosh , with 512MB of memory (RAM), a 700MB hard drive, and an 8MB integrated video card. A screen resolution of 1024 x 768 or higher is required.
Windows XP, or Vista for a PC or Mac OSX.
FLEX students will need a computer capable of reading DVD disks.
