Most of our courses (except for Imaging) have been converted to a new standard where all the video players appear right in the course material. We previously had used links in our courses that opened the video in a new window.
The newer system is superior for two reasons. Because the embedded players stream the video, you won't have to wait for them to download before they can be played. Because they are embedded right in the course material, they cannot be easily thwarted by popup blockers.
To play the videos you'll need to use Internet Explorer or FireFox and it will need to be configured correctly. (these are the only two supported web browsers).
If your course does not have the embedded video players, you'll need to turn off all popup blockers that are installed on your computer because they can interfere with the video clips opening properly and you'll need to wait up to 2 to 3 minutes for the longest videos to download and begin playing.
QuickTime - You'll need version 7.4.5 or higher to play our video clips and you can get it from QuickTime's website. You won't need iTunes for your courses so you can uncheck its box diring the installatiom of QuickTime. We specify version 7.4.5 (or newer) as this version overcomes "plugin errors" that some students were previously reporting.
Because QuickTime, Flash, and Adobe Reader all have frequent security updates, we recommend you keep these programs up to date.
Flash - Adobe Flash is required for the clips in the Imaging courses and all popup blockers need to be turned off for this to work properly.
